Emeritus is Mateo's pet Pepper Rex. Despite his impressive appearance, he is very friendly, and he protects the Coastal Adventurer's Guild from the crab menace diligently.
He is an antisocial NPC, meaning that whilst he has portraits and (limited) dialogue, he cannot be befriended.
You can find him roaming around East Scarp's main area or inside the Coastal Adventurer's Guild once it has been built. Prior to the guild's opening, Emeritus will remain in his egg incubator.
